People-first. Family-owned.
To discover new and better ways of producing health, happiness, and the joy of food.
The Deli Star Story
Founded in 1987 by Dr. Dan Siegel, Deli Star started with a simple mission: to provide the world with the safest proteins. For nearly 40 years, Deli Star has proudly maintained a zero-recall food safety legacy. In 2003, Justin Siegel, the current CEO, joined the family-owned company and prioritized a “people-first” culture and to strengthen the commitment to providing the world the safest, highest quality proteins.
Through this innovation journey, Justin and Dr. Dan, Deli Star developed multiple unique processes and technologies. Our Fresh Sous Vide and Steam Post-Pasteurization techniques have become industry standards. These methods allow us to offer fresh, never-frozen proteins that are safer, tastier, and have an unparalleled 120-day refrigerated shelf life.
Today, Deli Star operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in St Louis and a Food Discovery Center dedicated to future innovations. Over the years, Deli Star has become the trusted, family-owned protein partner for culinary professionals. We enable chefs, foodservice experts, and large-scale operations to streamline their businesses with our high-quality, ready-to-use proteins. This allows our partners to focus on creating delicious sandwiches, salads, and meals that people love.
We invite others to join our table to create, innovate, and build a more sustainable food future.
